Peripheral IV Skills Program

This course is approximately 5 hours and provides healthcare professionals with essential knowledge for practicing infusion therapy. The course includes insertion of traditional over the needle cannula peripheral aka "short" intravenous catheters. Instruction includes a brief presentation on safety, anatomy & physiology, aseptic techniques, equipment, care & assessment, maintenance, technological and clinical applications, common issues & troubleshooting and proper disposal.

The course incorporates standards, guidelines, and recommendations from the leading IV-related organizations that set the standards of IV care in the U.S.

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate. This certificate is not an official certification.
